Meeting Bodies

Beyond exercises, there is exercising being human – moving, dancing, struggling, breathing, improvising, playing,.. meeting bodies.

Sense, re-move, explore, interact and create in movement.

Imagine: moving your body as an orchestra, harmonising each part with one another. Expand it to group situations, your body meets other bodies, how would you play? Rhythm and coordination are the foundational layers for a sustainable deployment of power and strength, exploration and partnered situations your play grounds where you can try, find opportunities and allow creative variability.

We are human beings, living creatures, and movement is one of our characteristics. Moving is conscious and unconscious, visible and invisible. We do it when we are awake and, still, we do it when we are asleep. I embrace the idea of movement as living practice and living as an art form in itself. Every body moves, we may have commonalities, yet every body expresses differently and I find it beautiful. Learn more about your structure, respect your unique composition and the one of others, connect and have fun.

Movement

Listening to your body is not easy task, but I believe that it is worth it. You are often told what to do, what to feel, and execute according to instructions and standards that do not take into account who you are as a unique individual. You are unique, like everyone else, and that I believe it is important to remember as we meet others. The disconnection and conflictual relationship with the body is fed by the pressure of expectations and “should(s)” – please, should less. I see very little interest in asking ourselves “How do I feel today? How is the body asking to move?”. These questions can empower you, reducing external stressors, lowering resistances and enhancing agency.

Meeting

Together

We move, play, dance with emerging themes (i.e. spine articulation, folding and unfolding, meeting the ground, responding vs reacting,..) looking for ease, grace and a renovated sense of joy. In movement we meet ourselves and others, we play and uncover possibilities we might not be aware of. You are allowed to enjoy how you move, play and interact while respecting your unique composition. It is in the richness of our diversity that we grow and discover, together.

We are in movement..

I never really enjoyed the old ‘traditional’ isolated weight training sessions on the gym floor and wanted something more dynamic, functional and interesting. Ed’s classes keep me engaged and challenged in a variety of ways. Rather than leaving the gym exhausted I leave Ed’s classes feeling energised and connected.

Workshops

Workshops are open to any-body and any fitness level. We meet, we try, we play, we test and taste in movement. I share my past, present and ongoing research on human movement informed by a range of moving practices.

I collect my sharing under 'meeting bodies'. The material I propose is adaptable to a variety of settings and audience, hence you may find me sharing with athletes, performers, dancers, actors, kids and families.

I also run specific Inspire by FM* workshops. I have shared my experience with the Fighting Monkey practice since 2018 aiming to foster inclusion, value diversity and inspire creativity.

*FM practice is developed by founders Jozef Frucek and Linda Kapetanea through a deep study of cross motion analysis, and with the aim of understanding principles of human movement, communication and the ageing process.

With Eduardo's wealth of experience and knowledge my tennis and coaching has gone to the next level.

His sharp eye and visionary approach has helped me work on the fine details I have been missing for myself. This in turn has helped me take more responsibility for my self and my learning to become a better individual. An individual that takes better care of myself and has more insight and energy to help other athletes do the same for themselves.

It is a pleasure working with Eduardo, a truly caring and wise man who I would recommend to anyone.
